B-3: M.1842 Socket Bayonet for the Laukart fixation spring catch. Fits the Austrian rifle M.1842, system Augustin. There is a small “81” stamped on the right side of the elbow and a small “M” over “C” stamped on the left. Lovely dark brown patina overall with light even pitting overall, like salt air pitting. There is a marking “M1.1554” on the right top side of the blade. These rifles and bayonets were imported during the U.S. Civil War by both sides. Good+ n/s Good+(JN6-2)
